Further in the groups travel they encounter the young woman condemned to death,about to be burned on the stake,and Block asked her to summon the Devil,determined to get answers since God wont answer him.The girl insists on the Devil being there,but Block sees nothing and expresses his remorse for her situation to his caravan,but regretfully they can do nothing but watch in futility as she is burned.
We then see the blacksmith Porg and Jons find the man who actually took his wife,who then cheesily proceeds to fake his own death,which is somehow believed by the viewers,but immediately after is lounging in a tree which is cut down by Deaths scythe,showing he doesnt enjoy being mocked. And it will be an adequate sign - it will be enough for me." indicating his fulfillment with the simple pleasures in life,and he invites the couple to his estate,but unfortunately he must continue his game with death and is continually losing footing in it until Death must depart leaving him with a veiled threat towards his compatriots. Later at the local inn Ravar manipulates Plog into humiliating Jof for taking his wife,even though hes innocent,luckily Jons walks in saving him and slashing Ravar on the cheek,keeping his earlier promise to him.The knight and squire then come across Mia and Jof at their carriage and join them for lunch,with Block eventually remarking "I'll carry this memory between my hands as if it were a bowl filled to the brim with fresh milk. Whilst the crowd is harangued,Skat is enticed away for a tryst by Lisa wife of the town blacksmith Plog. The group reaches the town where the previously mentioned actors are doing a performance,until its interrupted by a group of flagellants led by a preacher who ominously disowns the crowd for their sinful ways. They take the girl they saved with them and leave Ravar with the promise of violence should they meet again. Leaving the church Antonius speaks to a girl condemned to death due to "consorting with the devil" hoping to perhaps learn something about the nature of god and the devil,but concludes that shes insane.While on the way to the town they come across an abandoned home,when investigating it Jons comes across a man threatening a young woman,the man happens to be Ravar,the man who convinced Jons to go on the crusades who is now a thief,fueling Jons cynicism of the churches endeavors. Jof wakes up and sees a vision of the Virgin Mary leading baby Jesus in the distance,he tells Mia but she brushes It off indicating he speaks of them quite often,it is also implied they get him into trouble around the town quite often.Block and Jons pass by a church and whilst Jons is arguing with an artists about the merits of his work,Block is giving confession,he espouses his troubles with faith and then segues into the strategy he plans to deploy on his chess opponent,unfortunately the man on the other side of the confession booth is not a priest,but in fact Death himself who has tricked Block into revealing his strategy in their game,and instruct him to continue it in the inn at the nearest town.
Block along with his cynical squire Jons pass the caravan of actors consisting of Jof,Mia and Mikael,a couple and their baby along with actor-manager Jonas Skat.

It follows a knight Sir Antonius Block,who at the beginning of the film challenges Death to a game of chess which is played throughout the movie and during the breaks between moves,searches for answers in relation to his disillusionment with faith and the silence of God. "The Seventh Seal" is a 1957 Swedish movie made by Ingmar Bergman,set in the 15th century during the midst of the Black Plague after a doomed from the start crusade for the Holy Land.
